They've still got about a year or so of remnants to surf on - all that M&A activity in 2000 is still bearing fruit. The issue here is what are we going to do about all the growth that wasn't purchased in 2001 and 2002 when 2003 and 2004 rolls around and the products launched in 2000 accrete the label "legacy".

You're kidding right? Are you implying that cisco's product line has not improved during this decline? The broadband conference call a week or so ago announced an optical win for cisco that pretty much put the final nail in ciena, and Chambers has committed to increasing carrier share for cisco to 50%. Is Juniper the cisco-killer anymore? I don't think so, the carrier class offerings have improved.
