DYLAN, JOEL, TAYLOR SUE MP3.COM A trio of rock and rollers is asking Vivendi Universal's (V) MP3.com for millions of dollars for copyright law violations. In Manhattan Federal District Court, complaints were made on behalf of Bob Dylan, Billy Joel and James Taylor. The charge is MP3.com illegally copied tracks from CDs and offered the music files to users. Years ago, MP3.com suggested that people who purchased a CD had a license and, upon proof of ownership, could listen to tracks from the album online.
