3:52 (Dow Jones) Sliding U.S. equities run the risk of eroding 37 years of
unrealized capital gains by foreign investors in U.S. stocks, says Merrill
Lynch's chief global strategist, David Bowers. Unrealized capital gains by
foreign investors on U.S. stocks have already been cut in more than half since
1Q 2000. If the S&P 500 was to slip to 700 points, it would effectively put
those investments under water, which Merrill says raises another risk for
dollar. (JNP/GMM)
