Yes, I understand. I take a different view: I do not know much about these people. Suppose one were raised by Communists, and ended up an ordinary liberal, voting for Democrats and basically affirming our institutions and economic system? I would consider that an improvement over one's upbringing, and commend one for getting that far. Since, then, it is possible that someone is doing the best he can, I have to be willing to give him at least several chances to improve the relationship before giving up......
