" Don't forget Canuckistan ".

I've posted this type of information here and elsewhere a number of times,Alastair, along with many other links and information regarding Canada's reserves and the percentage of oil( energy ) that the US imports from Canada as part of it's total consumption.

I am always amazed at how little response there is to these blinding statistics, that show this country can supply so much more ( oil - energy ) with so much less instability and conflict we spend so much time chatting about here.

We have people extolling the virtues of mass investment all over the world to counter dependence on ME oil, but right here in our back yard, so to speak, lies reserves to compare in size to both Saudi Arabia and Iraq, never mind Russia or the other " stans ".

One wonders why this information has such a difficult time seeping into the American information base.

As CB has responded, many would be satisfied to even pay more to use any other oil than that from the ME.I contest that were America to remove the hidden cost of maintaining the oil flow from the ME,it would actually be much cheaper to develop and produce these reserves.

The only conclusion I have ever been able to reach from what I see, is that big American Oil companies would rather have their cheaper oil from the ME subsidized by the Government though military guarantees of safe passage and uninterrupted supply, than invest in safer – friendlier countries with secure supplies.

Either that,or the US has Canada on " ignore ".<<GGG>>
