* Projectavision has resumed production of Digital Home Theater
projectors at rate of 100 systems monthly, growing to 250 in Aug.,
400-500 in Sept., 2,000 by 1998, company said. Projector, based on
Texas Instruments' (TI) Digital Light Processor, will be sold
through 75 dealers representing 125 storefronts and distributor
Boxlight, which is targeting commercial market, company said.
* Restart of production comes after Projectavision halted delivery of
projector to fix what it described as "convergence issue" related
to light engine that occurred when product was used as rear
projector. Mylar reflector also was replaced with glass mirror.
Circuit board assembler C-MAC is building key componentry using TI
engine, while Como Products is supplying plastic cabinetry.
