Neo merely expressed himself in such a way that it made you think he was speaking not for himself, but for the universe (and I have to say I'm still not totally clear he wasn't attempting to do that).

Yes, that's the crux of the matter. Neo is asserting his "duties" as universal. In a way he is correct in that the traditional culture does, indeed, operate that way, more or less. I can tolerate that scheme right up to the point where individuals are no longer the ultimate authority on their own best interests.

If I had just waited a bit longer to post my last post, I could have just said "ditto" to this post of yours. You're going to have to start showing up earlier. You're getting more than your share of the dittos.
