You could argue that a recession was in the making before he came to power, but doesn't it bug you that not a single mention is made by Bush relative to the economy and what his administration can do to stem the tide? Doesn't it bother you that even his economic advisers have been hushed for the last several months to keep the topic from bubbling to the surface?

Doesn't it make you feel just a little more comfortable knowing that we now have a president whose priority is protecting the nation rather than asserting some bogus, nonexistent influence over the economy (the way you-know-who did)?

Over and over you grind out your line. Even members of the Rep. party are chastising the president over his lack of attention to the economy. One Rep. suggested that had the recent drop in unemployment fallen under Clinton's watch...his team would have been all over it. It wasn't even mentioned by the Bush team.

Some of the president's handling of the economy is purely psychological. And that makes sense......the markets are one part fundamentals, two parts psychological. It makes people feel more comfortable to know the president is watching and paying attention.

As for defense of this country, I have no idea what you are talking about. Its almost comical......we are the most fortified and defensive country in the world, and you're not happy unless the president spends every waking hour worrying about it.
