In fact, this week, the reserves decreased by another 5,421. (2) There has been no political capital required. This is how Bush is helping Republican candidates. That's political capital gained. After it's all over, Bush is expecting to be hailed for having gotten rid of Iraqi WMDs without a war. It's not the first time that the President has put a slant over on the public. For example, Kennedy made the Cuban missile crisis look like a win for the US, and a political victory for himself. -- Carl
