lglass.net

Oak Brook, IL – October 10, 2002 - Looking Glass NetworksSM Inc., a facilities-based provider of metropolitan data transport services, announced an agreement with WorldxChange, a facilities-based communications carrier that offers international and domestic long distance services, to provide SONET lit services in the largest metropolitan markets in the United States including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York/Northern New Jersey, Seattle and Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia.

WorldxChange is utilizing Looking Glass’ FastGLASSSM SONET-based data transport services (DS-1 and DS-3) to bring the benefits of its discounted long distance services to more customers. Looking Glass’ self-healing ring architecture and flow-through provisioning give WorldxChange an advantage over its competition.

In addition to FastGLASSSM lit services, WorldxChange has accessed Looking Glass’ carrier-neutral collocation services and has the ability to utilize Looking Glass’ networks and services in Atlanta, Houston and San Francisco/San Jose.

“Looking Glass owns and operates networks in markets where there is significant demand for our services,” said Kenneth Hilton, CEO, WorldxChange, “and it met our requirements for rapid service delivery and competitive pricing. The proactive customer support and flexible field operations that we experience while working with Looking Glass compliment the superior level of service that WorldxChange offers its customers.”

“Owning our networks gives us the ability to immediately meet WorldxChange’s specific requirements without third party involvement,” said Lynn Refer, CEO, Looking Glass Networks. “Our experienced, focused team and custom networks allow us to rapidly deploy a diverse menu of flexible data transport services—continually satisfying our customers’ particular needs.”

With current connectivity to over 210 buildings and 275 buildings by the end of 2002, Looking Glass offers lit, dark fiber and collocation services in the nine largest U.S. metro markets. Specializing in custom-built networks and connectivity, Looking Glass’ physically diverse networks offer an alternative that can meet the specific requirements of carrier and enterprise customers.
