o/t re: tech stock valuations...

I was just browsing thru some old tech stock - watchlist portfolio's... and just thought about how some of these employee's that had all their eggs in the company stock basket must feel.

Former high-flyer fav's like VTSS & TXCC...

TXCC was like $100 per share in the spring of 2000... 2 years later under a dollar !?!?!?

If an employee just had say 10,000 shares back in 2000 - he was a damn millionaire... today he has $10,000.

If you could have cashed out back then - along with some 7% CD's/Longterm Bonds... you could be drawing $70,000 a year without touching the principle and retired... today; you can't buy a 5 year old full size used pick up truck ...

They have to be selling prozac & lithium by the boatload to those techies in Silicon valley...

I wish I had made some videotapes of the CNBC shows during the height of the bubble... someone ought to look into getting the syndication rights to re-running some of those shows on the comedy channel.

Simply amazing.
