Dear Pat: As usual organizations like those pull out what they WANT TO use and not put in the whole truth. If you read THE ENTIRE LETTER it went on to say that Saddam posed a significant threat OVER TIME for reasons given and discussed often. The threat TODAY may become higher then it is now if he is up against the wall, but the threat TOMORROW FAR OUTWEIGHS any additional threat today. Thats the part they left out in your memo. INCIDENTALLY, I stayed up last night and listened to a few of the speeches given BY DEMOCRATS in the Senate during the final debate. They clearly AND STRONGLY explained WHY we MUST give Bush the authorization he sought. If you heard them I think you would understand where that source you are using is coming from. JDN
