Re:"Oh, puh-leeze! Pets.com anyone?"

Brilliant !! Doofus thinks that only Pet.com types populated the dot com world.

Three years ago their were 4 DSL carriers in the SF Bay area. Three went into bankruptcy and the shareholders lost everything. Only Covad survived bankruptcy and it is a much weakened company. In addition most all of the resellers of DSL service from the three carriers are all gone too.

Who was the only DSL carrier to avoid BK? Can you guess?

Pacific Bell, the outfit that held the key to the central offices and one of the RBOCs that helped the "deregulation" bill. The central office access restrictions erected by Pac Bell were a major reason for the failure of the carriers.

Now you can purchase your DSL service from only one healthy supplier -- Pacific Bell. Competition at work to serve the consumer.

"Deregulation" was supposed to provide competition for local telephone service for consumers. So who offers local service to Pacific Bell customers?

This is how competition works when the established companies set the rules and write the "degulation" bill in Tom Delay's office.

Elect the Duke !! Ignore the Doofus !!
