Darleen, don't worry too much at this stage. "Abrasions" sounds to me like bullshit.

There's a very high probability that the diagnosis is wrong and the problem may have something to do with wind, feeds etc. More than anything don't let them do anything drastic or expensive, including fancy tests. BTW, if the child is still on the bottle, just see that the hole in the teat is big enough (use a red hot needle to open it).

Even if the diagnosis is right, which as I've said above I doubt, the condition is very common and most people who have GER go through adulthood without experiencing problems. Also Barrett's is not that terrible and, likewise, most people who have that don't need medical attention.

At the very worst, they can do surgery using a laparoscope to correct the reflux but definitely not until adulthood.

I don't know what you mean about fake meat. Are you referring to soya? If so, there are all kinds of concerns about the phytoproteins which can upset the child's hormone levels, but don't worry about that, either. These days, there is no food which is any good so, as far as I can see, the answer is to eat a bit of everything and not too much of anything.
