It is too bad the White House wasn't honest with the networks. They should have asked for coverage, while stressing the nature of the announcement. It sounds like everyone was fairly confused about the event. That is a sad thing in a democracy. No matter who the leader is, we need to at least listen to what he has to say- and THEN listen to the opposition. Without that, democracy is meaningless- since a real democracy requires at least minimally informed citizens. Sigh.
