If you think the S&P is going to 478, then we all may as well move into caves because the U.S. financial system as we know it will have collapsed. In other words, the banks and insurance companies will have gone broke.
One can say, well, look at Japan. Fair enough.
Perhaps those still living will try to exchange what's left of their dollars for Russian rubles, or, more likely, trade their stock certificates for something useful, like a spare tire.
This is the worst bear market in 66 years, but it's not the end of the world.
