I can't believe that Saddam has suddenly "changed his ways" and I don't believe you feel he's capable of it either...

You're right - I dont believe he will change. BUT, there's more than 1 way to skin a cat, as the saying goes.

I think the Congressional mandate is good news, because it now puts pressure on UN to put up or shut up.

However, the UN being a much slower moving body than Congress, needs to be given a reasonable amount of time to "put up". If UN decides conflict is the way to go, the US will get worldwide support, not just a few countries. And a heck of a lot more overt support from the Arab govts.
