Is it thousands and thousands.???? Would records exist on who bought all that ammunition? Nothing is perfect, but 1 on 100 is better than 1 in 1000 is better than 1 in 100000... etc

I would guess very few rifles would be used enough to change the rifling so dramatically as to hide the original identity.

I only post my speculations, I am not an expert or really that informed in this area.
