That translates into "I don't know this subject well enough to discuss it further with you right now."

That's fine.

However, onlookers might question why you called the book your "very favorite" if you didn't know what was in it or it's scope. It just seems odd that one would claim something as "very favorite" if one's recollection of one of its main themes is the opposite of what was written.
