Funny... no mention of the Russians, French, Chinese, or Dutch as having "shored" up Saddam as well...

And Saddam was bribing the Russians with promises of a "$40 Billion deal" when he can't even manage to run his economy under the sanctions....

And also no discussion of why Saddam has consistently found it worthwhile to give up Billions in potential oil revenues simply in order to thwart complying with UN resolutions.

I wonder why Mr. Kristof didn't mention this "interesting" points about who has been more active in "propping up" Saddam Hussein??
