Hello, Lee. As you probably have discovered, this is a seldom-used board; I check it occasionally only because I happened to buy a few shares of HD recently. I answer you not because I have anything particularly useful to say, only that I understand your frustration and, like all consumers, have experienced it myself in various ways at various stores. Lowe's, Circuit City, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and every other chain in existence -- they all have similar customer service problems and all inflict similar miseries upon their customers at one time or another. Of course you're right to complain, and I hope you'll keep doing it until you get some satisfaction. But please realize, as I'm sure you do, that this sad state of affairs is with our society in general and not merely with Home Depot, in Idaho or wherever. I also humbly suggest that shorting HD stock isn't a very good weapon; that simply makes you a future buyer, at your own risk. It's so low already that chances are it'll rebound nicely, regardless of customer service issues such as yours. But, again, I do sympathize and I wish someone at the store would indicate they care and try to make amends. This is sad for American business. |
