Hi Ebg. Thought it fitting to respond to your hello. As a Loral long, it feels like I'm standing on the moon. Nobody around. Just the cold dark quiet of space. Sure is getting ugly. Loral and Globalstar down 10% today. Not exactly a fulfilling day for the Loral hopeful. I've read your posts. You have lots of good things to say. Personally, I'd enjoy hearing more about your days as a Loral employee. Did you ever spend any time with Bernard Schwartz? If so, how about some personal insights. Are you still long? If so, why? What's the latest buzz around Loral? Heard anything? What's frustrating to me is the lack of news on the LMT/Loral commercial sat manufacturing merger. Why the cloak of secrecy? There is plenty of speculation by leading satellite company executives pointing to the strong possibility of this merger happening, so why isn't it happening? I for one have no insights into Loral other than what I have read. Everything has lead me to be a Loral long for much too long. My investment has perished. It would seem that Bernard Schwartz refuses to perish. He's in it for the duration. My hopes are that Mr. Schwartz has all of our interests at heart, and not just his own. I recall reading past posts from individuals who actually spoke to Bernard. I believe Mr.(Doctor) Jim Blackman, although I'm not certain, indicated that Mr. Schwartz spoke of a poison pill that Loral could take if the situation were dire enough. Get a load of that! A poison pill! What is that exactly? Not sure about you, but I suspect the poison pill has been taken. Why else is an industry leader such as Loral dying on the vine. I remember Bernard clearly saying that Loral's future would not be compromised by the Globalstar venture. Bernard has said a lot of things, and generally, I have found him to be a man of his word. That's what makes this downward spiral so painful. Many of us "naive" investors want to believe and stand by the man's words and commitment. But as time drags on and Loral continues to bleed, I am becoming more and more skeptical. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined Loral's current predicament. Loral used to have a market cap of over 10 billion dollars. And Globalstar, well that's another matter altogether. Bottom line.....if Bernard and whomever else is in his company, blows the shift with Loral as they did with Globalstar, and leaves the shareholder with zip, his legacy will be in good company with the likes of Chainsaw Al Dunlap and other greats who can be named nothing else but...."Failure."
In the same regard, the fallen carnage of the Loral longs can be called "Failure" as well. We failed to make good on our investment. We were "wrong." We told others about Loral and the great Bernard Schwartz, who now have little left to show for their Loral holdings. Yup, it's great to be a Loral long. Not too mention that many Loral longs got soaked on their Globalstar investment and now possibly Loral. The stock market is a savage place, where the truth, if it does exist, lyes under rocks and around corners where "few" can find it. I'm just surprised that Bernard doesn't have more to say on the current status of Loral. Why the tight lip? Inquiry minds want to know.
That's all for now. I'm done. Just needed to let off a little steam, for that's all I can do these days as a holder of Loral common stock. Still hoping for a miracle, and if warranted, a new CEO and Board of Directors.
