But why should we judge religions by their extremists.

Are we judging Islam by a few extremists or is Osama Bin Laden a hero to millions and possibly even billions of Islamists. I think the latter. The fall of the Trade Towers was met by cheering and dancing in the streets in much of the Muslim world. Even the Muslims who freely come over here to take advantage of our educational opportunities and free enterprise system did not have the gumption or balls to stand up and condemn the September 11 attack. When an extreme Christian murders one doctor peforming abortions is their widespread dancing in the streets by mainstream Christians? Hardly. The perverseness associated with Islam goes well beyond a few outlying extremists in my opinion. The religion is closely associated with some of the most dysfunctional cultures of the modern era. And when you are speaking about treatment of women, you forget to mention the not so rare practise of forced sexual circumcision.
