rose: I love British Columbia...

I used to get up to Vancouver (and Whistler) when I lived in Seattle in the mid 90s.

In my college years and early on when I hit the working world I was able to take some amazing summer trips up into BC -- visited desolation sound a number of times...only got to princess louissa inlet once -- i'll always remember it (snow-capped peaks, bald eagles above, and a waterfall to write home about)...we put our crab pot down the first night and within a few hours we had enough dungeness crabs to supply a Seattle Restaurant <G>...One year I was just out of college and working for Merck in sales - I was extremely busy and didn't have enough time off...My friend and his family really wanted me to join them on their summer trip. I had a presentation to make and a regional meeting to attend. My friend's father said after you're finished just get a flight to the northwest and we'll arrange to have a plane take you to where our boat will be...I ended up flying from Massachusetts to Washington -- met a company plane, cleared customs and then flew non-stop up to Campbell River...

After a quick drive to the docks I was on the trawler and in paradise.

Someday I'll have to get back to British Columbia...I find that the longer you're away, the more you miss it...=)
