They can end deflation by hitting market clearing price, i.e. the price pervasive in the immediate neighborhood of Asia, and they should be afraid that is way down deep and/or distant in the future.

As long as Japan keeps exporting Japanese goods made in China and Japan to the US consumers who keeps borrowing against their homes, deflation will continue until all are at equal level.

Japan can eliminate deflation more promptly by making oodles of non-recourse Japanese Yen loans to folks in Hong Kong and allow us to show them how to spent same;0)
