I would much rather see the 007s or their CIA equivalents go in and get the terrorists one by one. Blanket bombing was a little too much for me, but hey, that's perhaps just me...

I would love it too. I always enjoy the Super-Heroes wiping out everybody bloodlessly in the Major Movies. But it is Utopian to expect that in real life. What was outstanding about the Afghanistan campaign was how few casualties there were. The Taliban were really "Bad Guys", no doubt about it. A bunch of Religious Fanatics that were so terrible that the people in Kabul danced in the streets when we liberated them. War is Hell, zonder. We don't live in a world where we can be rid of it.

the lesson we have learned in my country is that the best way to fight terrorism is to cut off the terrorists' support from the population by improving their lives, diminishing the reasons for which they support the terrorists, so that you will now know where the terrorists are and where the civilians are.

Again, a great idea, that I feel is Utopian in our present situation. By the end of '03, I think we will have made enough of a success of our fight that we can then turn to this type of program.
