Since I had already made clear that the flight of fancy mode did not make much sense to me in our discussion of responsibility, punishment, and restitution, I am not sure why you should have thought it would be any different this time. Nor did it register as an "invitation to dance" with me, in any case. If you had said "Just for speculative purposes, imagine a paradigm which eschews blame", maybe we could have been clear a long time ago. Instead, you merely objected to my paradigm, and asserted other things which I rejected.
I find it interesting that you imagine having signaled so much in yesterday's exchange. All I got, however, was someone not acknowledging my material, mentioning something peripheral, and bailing out. I understand not quite knowing what to say, but perhaps a "Gee, I wonder how my impression could have been so different. I will give it some thought" might have sufficed. That would hardly have delayed your lunch......... |
