But if you were not American, and if you had a modicum of national pride, and the years of hate against the "enemy" (i.e. America)? Some "national pride" they showed when they surrendered by the Tens of Thousands during Desert Storm... Hell, they surrendered to an unarmed news journalist.... And am I discounting Iraqi pride?? NOT AT ALL.... Since they fought ferociously against Iran. However, I am discounting Iraqi loyalty to Saddam and his clan, and the awareness that they (and almost every other nation has) that when ever the US has destroyed a Tyranny, it has rebuilt the nation and implemented democratic and economic reforms. They'll be some fanatical hold-outs, but those will mainly be the ones who have no where to go and thousands of Iraqis looking to kill them VERY slowly. Just as they dealt out to the families, sons and daughter of the common Iraqi.. And yes... that was DEFINITELY a "Freudian Slip"... Hawk
