Thank you for the explanation.
One thing that would work against the theory that the snipers are somehow working (even tangentially) with al Qaeda, though, is that they prefer to target political and economic symbols.
I'd also think they'd be pleased to have it be known it was they and the 'calling card' would have shown that.

I suppose we'll find out soon enough. I hope so anyway.
