Interesting interview with a Delta Force guy on CNN. He's evidently had access to at least some information that hasn't been made public. He says that the range has been from 50 to 100 yards in all cases.

His theory is that there're two shooters, young men in their 20s. In the Home Depot case, he believes that they entered the shopping center as if they were about to park, and then slowed or stopped for a few seconds, took the shot, and then slowly drove out of the lot.

That'd take considerable self-control. Not typical of young men, but you never know.
