My last OT gun control post: Please note that I haven't made up my mind where the "right" answer lies. The one thing I do know is that the most ardent proponents on both sides of the debate have no idea about the perspective of the other side. I've lived in two polar opposites of the gun control world--Texas and Massachusetts. It was the rare person in either state that truly understood the priorities and perspective of the opposition. This lack of understanding leads to dangerous polarization and misunderstanding and minimizes the chances that we can solve the true problem.
