Unbelievable - yes, I do But it depends on what you mean by "this." Do you mean today's action or the entire rally since Thursday morning? If you mean the former I have no opinion, but if you mean the latter then I think "this" rally since Thursday occurred because many of the big boys' buy programs were set to react to an intraday VIX reading of +50. The buying took off almost precisely at the time we got the reading Thursday around 10:00 a.m. EST. And if that's the case then it would have happened regardless of whether or not it was near options-ex week.
