Is there any reason the Registries of Motor Vehicles in MD and VA could not search their databases for all the white Chevy Astro vans and start questioning each owner, whether a private person or a business, if owned by a business?

I have not seen this mentioned anywhere by the police or in the media. Seems like a pretty obvious step to take.
