Bothersome monkey beaten to death

Coimbatore, Feb 22: A monkey, creating panic among the residents of Ukkadam area here for the past few days, was beaten to death by the public late last night, police said.

The monkey, which strayed into the city a fortnight ago, had wreaked havoc, entering the kitchens of various homes, destroying eatables and biting more than 10 people.

The monkey, which managed to escape from the public, was trapped in a residential area in Bilal Nagar last night, and done to death by the enraged residents, police said.
