If you don't want WWII Military, then I suggest the Lewis and Clark one, which is one hell of a good read. No, WWII books are fine. I've always been told that when I get around to reading about it, I should start with John Keegan. But I could easily start with Ambrose. I just might not start right away. Still got a backlog of other books--Pollack, Sacred Terror, Huntington--to get through.
