OT You are right. I also think the verses should be read in context. But unfortunately, is is too easy to do otherwise and there is no way to edit out those verses. The verses can become a call to arms for zealots and for others who might use them to manipulate young would-be martyrs (suicide bombers). Christianity has a shameful history, but I am not aware of similar passages in the New Testament, [although Jacob Snyder posted in #62001 that he thinks the New Testament has similar problems]. Tom
