George, My data probably contradicts your belief that war will not happen. War within 89 days now I say. Also attacking/not attacking Iraq has nothing to do with recruits to Al Qaeda IMO.

The real issue is economics- most Middle Eastern countries are run by corrrupt undemocratic power circles who really do not care about the plight of their own people so long as their own pockets are lined with gold.

In addition tie in the rise to power of the super conservative Gulf-based Arab states versus the formerly much more moderate Levant-based Arab states. That affects Middle Eastern attitudes too.

So the key to slowing down Al Qaeda is to recontruct Iraq quickly and effectively- integrate Iraq back into the world economy rapidly. Give them a stake in the status quo.

Iraq was our ally once. Don't laugh when I say that that in ten years our key ally in the Midlle East may again be....Iraq.

Al Qaeda by the way is not the future. Al Qaeda is a last- gasp effort by revisionists to reconstruct a medieval view of mankind- long gone in most parts of the world....
