Accusations of criminality are common in the Beltway, often without evidence, but sometimes with good reason.
The primary issue in that regard IMO is full disclosure. Forget about name-calling of Dems or Repubs or Indies, release all the information and let the public sort it out.
Bush and Co. have entire books written about their escapades going back generations, including indictments of grandpa Bush for treasonous trading with the enemy in WWII.
I agree the current Bush group isn't indicted, as yet, but if their business shenanigans were by Democrats, say, they would be considered "criminal", such as insider trading at Harken.
The most suspicious are those who indict themselves by attempting to withhold or outright destroy evidence that could be incriminating. In that regard the Bushes win the prize, hiding pres papers going back to the Reagan administration, and Junior governorship papers against the laws of Texas and US Congress, by hiding them in Poppy's library and challenging the courts to do something about it. |
