There is nothing ambiguous about the second amendment.

Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Reading the Federalist Papers would clarify the intent of the founding fathers WRT the second amendment. If they had meant that the right to bear arms to be applied to a well regulated militia, they would have said that. Instead they said "the people".
