Douglas V Fant, Your post is bang on with my recent thinking on Iraq. Don't know if I am getting into my personal views here or just geopolitical thinking, but in any case I believe you are correct in your assessment. Esp. with this: So the key to slowing down Al Qaeda is to recontruct Iraq quickly and effectively- integrate Iraq back into the world economy rapidly. Give them a stake in the status quo. Iraq was our ally once. Don't laugh when I say that that in ten years our key ally in the Midlle East may again be....Iraq. Maybe a lot less than ten!
