"btw, now that we have seen some claim the vehicle firing the .223 may have been the AK-74 should we consider dismissing claims of those here who would disparage members of the US the Armed Forces?"

The M1 was an extremely accurate rifle for its time. I would have taken it anywhere despite its weight. No matter how dirty you got it, it always fired, and where you aimed it. As far as the AR15 that they said this villian was using, I never thoght it was the same weapon that Doug AK and I used. Despite the accuracy reports of our beloved journalists, it was never meant as a sniper rifle. It was meant to fire as many rounds as possible as fast as possible, and rarely used at "targets" over about 50 yards. Other weapons were used for targets that were farther than this. Even with a scope it would be hard to be accurate at over 1/4 mile as the news reports. Since the bullet tumbles, wind and other factors affect its trajectory. Oh well, enough of that! I for one will not believe that the villian doing this is a member or trained by the military. I could be proven wrong, but think that it is only the liberal press talking.
