Datek can't fill market orders at open because the market makers don't want to deal with Island. Island shows up as the market maker "ISLD." When market makers see it, they ignore it.

They're not supposed to ignore it, but they do. Datek has called the market makers who have received Island orders and who have ignored them. The market makers hang up or put Datek on hold indefinitely.

Why? For one, market makers are not buying for our health, they're buying for theirs. But the real answer is that Island represents day traders, who by definition do not support the price of a stock.

By definition, using Datek means using Island. Island orders are at an immediate disadvantage.

Best of luck to you,

Caroline

Datek: I'll consider canning the constant comments if you FIND my letter, process my account closure and SEND me my check. You guys can't even receive and process mail like a regular business.
