Yes article was from a socialist site. But the source for reports of Seidman's comments was an ordianry midwesatern paper cited in the article. And I saw a similar article recently in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR.

I consider myself a libertarian and -- being financially secure -- socialism is very far off my radar screen. But they sometimes report interesting stuff not available elsewhere.

Having lived through the Vietnam era -- where a war was sold to the public on the basis of big lies repeated over and over again -- I am very skeptical of government propoganda. Back then the politicians were saying if we didn't win in Vietnam we would soon be facing a communist takeover of all Asia. Well we lost and there were no such takeover
