The main difference between far-left liberals and far-right conservatives is that far-left liberals may spout stupidities from time to time, but their agenda, for the most part, is pretty much harmless: more socialized medicine, more money for education, closing the income gap in this country by raising the minimum wage, etc.
Right-wing extremists, on the other hand, have no reservations about changing life as we know (and enjoy) it for the worse: stopping women from using birth control pills, creating a theocracy instead of a democracy in this country, "nuke 'em back to the stone age," curtailing civil rights, etc.
There are more than a few similarities to the far right wing of the Republican Party and the religious zealots we ousted from Afghanistan. |
