GJ,
For the umpteenth time i am seeing creeping optimist in corp america as least how it affects tech sales in the financial services industry. It is as bleak now as it has been during the "bust" but CTO's and IT people tell me that there firms are out of compliance in many ways because of outdated systems. No way this can continue for much longer. Market is now predicting robust(er) economy 6-9 months out and this seems to me to be inevitable. When it is deemed cheaper to replace the 1999 stuff for Y2K than to continue to run it, buyers will be there. I am in the process of saving a major bank $100,000 per month as they replace a legacy system. This includes most costs of implememtation because it is thin client--web based replacing thick application. To date, bank has not had staff to implement conversion. When i spoke to cto he drooled at the 100k savings and said the plan was to assign assets next year, but the word at the bank now is to start prioritizing and spending now. Mike
