Review of 100 years of drilling data and industry experience shows that oil is a finite resource. Your argument that reserves have increased is supported by OPEC claims to reserve increases, but not but reliable data.

As soon as the oil assets were nationalized and OPEC started considering production quotas by reserves their reserves grew rapidly. Many scientists who had considerable experience in these areas doubted the validity of these claimed increases.

Whether the expected scarcity is really significant is one concern, but dreams of reducing the West's dependence on ME oil are hopeless.
