Microsoft's earnings are being helped by a bubble of revenue that their switch of licensing models produced. It will be interesting to see if their new licensing scheme produces a steady stream of revenue that, in aggregate, exceeds the piles of cash that used to arrive in Redmond each time a new release shipped.
