I guess you and I agree on almost everything (not that that makes us "right", of course (g)), but I think the one item remaining is potentially very important.

So we've got our killer sitting in his car, parked in a strategic location, and watching his so-called kill zone. Does he seize his *first* so-called perfect one-bullet shot no matter who the victim may be, or does he only do so after finding the "appropriate" one? The former implies his primary thrill is the adrenaline rush he gets from his kill and getaway, the latter implies his thrill is also an intellectual one.
