Actually, I think he's a throwback to an earlier era in the Senate... but he is *the* greatest parlimentary expert currently there, and he knows how to work the rules (again: in an old, old Senate tradition).

It takes someone iconoclastic like him to stand up to the rush toward war that Bush and allies have engineered... and look at the questions which have been avoided - like, what this is doing to the Congressional/Presidential balance of powers... what this may mean for the future with an 'Imperial Presidency'....
