re: GSM in Brazil Crossing international boundaries this week was Telecom Italia Mobile, which today consolidated its Brazilian GSM operations with the opening of 1,000 sales outlets in 80 cities. “The most important operation of the TIM Group outside Europe,” according to the company, claims to be the sole operator to provide services throughout Brazil. TIM hopes to bag 1.5 million new subs by the end of 2003.
